BMW is preparing a substantial update for its flagship 7 Series and i7 models, scheduled for unveiling at the Beijing Motor Show in April. Production is slated to begin in the third quarter of this year.

Notably, Audi has discontinued its A8 for the time being, leaving BMW and Mercedes as the primary contenders in the shrinking ultra-luxury saloon segment. Despite this trend, BMW remains committed to the class, betting that the 7 Series and i7 can reignite interest in high-end sedans.
