Priced between $21,000 and $24,800, the vehicle boasts rapid charging capabilities, a spacious interior, and advanced driver-assistance systems. This launch underscores BYD’s aggressive strategy to dominate the EV sector, offering high-value vehicles that rival established brands.
Design and Exterior
The Song Ultra EV features a modern, minimalist design. A prominent black grille integrates seamlessly with the headlights, while a full-width daytime running light enhances its visual presence. The sleek profile incorporates a floating roof effect and aerodynamic 19-inch wheels. The rear is distinguished by a full-width light bar incorporating a unique Chinese-knot design. Six color options are available.
Interior Comfort and Technology
Inside, the Song Ultra EV prioritizes comfort and connectivity. Key features include:
- A rotating 15.6-inch central display, complemented by a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 26-inch head-up display.
- Premium soft-touch materials throughout the cabin.
- Front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions.
- A unique “bed mode” allowing the seats to fold flat into a continuous 1.8-meter surface.
The vehicle also supports four-zone voice interaction and offers 150L of front trunk space, expandable to 730L with the rear seats up, or 1659L when folded. A built-in cooling/heating box maintains temperatures from -6°C to 50°C.
Performance and Charging
The Song Ultra EV is powered by a rear-wheel-drive single-motor setup available in 240 kW and 270 kW configurations, delivering up to 305 Nm of torque and a top speed of 210 km/h. What truly stands out is its charging speed: 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes. The vehicle uses BYD’s Short Blade Battery 2.0, with capacities of 68.4 kWh (620 km CLTC range) and 82.7 kWh (710 km CLTC range). Charging from 10% to 70% takes only 5 minutes, though cold temperatures (-30°C) can increase this by approximately 3 minutes.
Safety and Driver Assistance
All variants include seven airbags, a tire blowout stability system, and the DiSus-C intelligent damping system with a McPherson front and five-link rear suspension. An optional DiPilot 300 system adds lidar and 27 sensors, enabling city and highway navigation assist, as well as automated parking. These features position the Song Ultra EV as a competitive option in terms of safety and convenience.

Pre-sale orders for the Song Ultra EV have already exceeded 21,586 units, indicating strong consumer demand. The vehicle’s combination of affordability, fast charging, and premium features is clearly resonating with buyers.
