Ford is openly catering to enthusiasts who demand more power, offering factory-backed supercharger kits for its popular Coyote V8 engines. These dealer-installed upgrades significantly boost performance while maintaining full warranty coverage—a key advantage over aftermarket modifications.
Mustang GT: Up to 810 Horsepower
The most potent upgrade is available for the Mustang GT, Dark Horse, and F-150. The new 3.0-liter twin-screw supercharger, developed in partnership with Whipple, pushes the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 to a staggering 810 horsepower (604 kW) and 615 lb-ft of torque. However, achieving the full 810 hp requires the optional active exhaust system ; otherwise, output is capped at 800 hp.
This isn’t just a simple bolt-on kit. It includes a 92mm throttle body, colder spark plugs borrowed from the Shelby GT500, upgraded port fuel injectors, and a dual-pass intercooler. The Tomahawk flash tool handles necessary ECU recalibrations for optimized performance.
F-150: Street Truck Power
For F-150 owners (2021-2026 models), the kit delivers 700 hp (522 kW) and 590 lb-ft of torque. While this falls short of the Raptor R’s 720 hp, it’s a substantial increase, especially for the F-150 Lobo, where it transforms the truck’s performance to match its aggressive style.
The upgrade works on both two-wheel and four-wheel-drive models using the single-alternator configuration. Trucks equipped with Ford’s Pro Power Onboard system require an additional component for compatibility.
Warranty and Legal Considerations
A major selling point is Ford’s commitment to durability and coverage. The kits are engineered to meet 100,000-mile standards, and when installed by a dealer or certified technician, they come with a 3-year/36,000-mile Ford Performance warranty. This eliminates the risk of voided warranties often associated with aftermarket modifications.
There is a legal catch: While the kit is currently marketed as 50-state legal for older model years, 2026 vehicles in California and other CARB-compliant states require pending certification. Until then, these buyers are excluded.
Cost and Fuel Requirements
The F-150 supercharger kit costs $10,250, while the Mustang version is slightly more expensive at $10,500. Both require premium 91-octane fuel or higher to deliver the advertised power figures.
