Mitsubishi Outlander Black Edition: New Trim for 2026 Model

11

Mitsubishi has expanded its Outlander lineup with the introduction of the 2026 LS Black Edition, offering a darker aesthetic and additional features for $47,990 before on-road costs. The new trim will arrive in dealerships in February.

Black Edition Details

The LS Black Edition builds upon the standard LS model, incorporating black styling elements and select upgrades from the higher Aspire trim. Key additions include:

  • Exterior: 18-inch black alloy wheels, darkened roof rails, mirror caps, bumper garnishes, grille, fog light bezels, and belt line mouldings.
  • Interior: Heated front seats with microsuede and leatherette upholstery, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and leatherette door trim.

The Black Edition represents a $1450 premium over the standard LS model.

Expanded Availability of ES 5+2 Trim

Alongside the Black Edition, Mitsubishi will now make the previously fleet-exclusive ES 5+2 (seven-seat) trim available to private buyers at a starting price of $42,540 before on-road costs. This expands Outlander access for those needing maximum passenger capacity.

Standard Features Carry Over

Both the LS Black Edition and standard LS trims retain a robust feature set:

  • LED headlights and fog lights
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Satellite navigation with an 8-speaker Yamaha sound system
  • Dual-zone climate control

Warranty and Servicing

All Mitsubishi Outlanders are backed by a 10-year, 200,000km warranty, including roadside assistance. To maintain full coverage, owners must adhere to Mitsubishi’s capped-price servicing program. Failing to do so reduces the warranty to five years or 100,000km.

Powertrain Options

The LS Black Edition and standard Outlander are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 135kW and 244Nm, paired with a CVT transmission. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain is also available, with an updated PHEV model slated for release soon.

Mitsubishi’s strategy with the Black Edition mirrors a trend among automakers offering cosmetic-focused trims to appeal to buyers seeking visual differentiation. The expanded availability of the ES 5+2 trim suggests Mitsubishi is responding to consumer demand for affordable seven-seat options.
