Autocar’s Great Women Awards Open for 2026 Nominations

11

Autocar, in partnership with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), has launched nominations for its 2026 Great Women awards. The initiative recognizes the leading female professionals shaping the automotive industry.

Recognizing Industry Leaders

The awards, now in their 11th year, celebrate women across all facets of the sector – from marketing and retail to vehicle development and manufacturing. A key feature is the Top 100 list, selected by Autocar’s judging panel based on seniority and influence.

Separate recognition will also be given to rising talent through an apprentice category, highlighting the next generation of female leaders. This dual focus ensures both established and emerging figures receive well-deserved recognition.

Event Details

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 16th, at Stellantis UK headquarters. The event will include keynote speakers, a panel debate, and networking opportunities for industry professionals. An overall winner will be announced, joining a roster of past honorees including Alison Jones (Stellantis), Linda Jackson (Peugeot), and Lisa Brankin (Ford).

Why This Matters

The automotive industry, like many STEM fields, has historically been male-dominated. Initiatives like the Autocar Great Women awards are crucial for visibility and progress. By spotlighting successful women, they inspire future generations and challenge existing biases. The awards also provide valuable networking opportunities and career advancement platforms.

Sponsorship and Participation

The 2026 awards are sponsored by Bentley, Keyloop, Nissan, NTT Data, SMMT, Stellantis, and Volvo.

Nominations are now open, and attendance at the ceremony is limited and first-come, first-served. Inquiries should be directed to [email protected].

The Autocar Great Women awards continue to shine a spotlight on the enormous number of talented women in our automotive industry, said Rachael Prasher, managing director of Haymarket Automotive.
