Fiat Panda Pop: The Affordable Electric SUV with a Defender Vibe

44

Fiat has just released the Grande Panda Pop, the cheapest version of its electric SUV yet, starting at £20,995. With the government’s £1,500 grant applied, it comes down to £19,495—making it one of the most accessible EVs on the market.

Trim Levels and Pricing

The new Pop trim sits below the Icon (£21,995) and La Prima (£24,035) in Fiat’s lineup. This move aligns the electric Panda’s structure with its hybrid counterpart, offering a streamlined range of choices.

Defender-Inspired Styling?

What sets the Pop apart is its unique look: 16-inch white steel wheels. Paired with the optional Acqua Azure green paint (£650), the combination intentionally echoes the rugged aesthetic of the Land Rover Defender. Other color options (black, blue, yellow, bronze, and white) also cost £650, while red is free, and includes special (RED) badging to support the charity partnership.

Tech and Features

Despite being the base model, the Grande Panda Pop isn’t stripped bare. It includes LED lights, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, heated side mirrors, rear parking sensors, and the signature Italian dash design inspired by Fiat’s historic Lingotto factory.

Performance and Range

The powertrain remains unchanged: a 113bhp electric motor with a 44kWh battery providing a range of 199 miles. Acceleration from 0-62mph takes 11 seconds.

Availability

Orders are open now, but deliveries won’t start until spring 2026. This delay highlights the ongoing supply chain challenges in the EV sector, which continues to affect production timelines.

The Grande Panda Pop is a statement: affordable EVs don’t have to sacrifice style, even if that style borrows from iconic designs like the Land Rover Defender. The long wait for delivery is a reminder that demand still outstrips supply in the rapidly growing EV market.
